Lovely work. This is the kind of portrait we need to be seeing more of. We all have mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sister and coursins or people we know who perform this surrogate role in our lives. More artists here ought to celebrate the women that matter to them in place of so many paintings of the same uber-symetrical faced model looking form of beauty. There are beautiful people all around us. I really like the colour scheme and straight edges against your mum's top. The lighting on the face and neck are really nice too.
